Job Summary	The Alabama Extension IPM and Beginning Farmer Programs, focused on specialty crops, is hiring an undergraduate student seeking valuable long-term research and Extension experience. Freshman or Sophomore students are encouraged to apply for long-term career development/experience with a multifaceted program as part of a large team.
Essential Functions	This student will work as an undergraduate project assistant with tasks that include: Conducting research/insect monitoring during summers at various experiment stations and commercial farms across Alabama, and coordinate mobile app development efforts ('Farming Basics' app - https://www.aces.edu/blog/topics/ipm-farming/farming-basics-mobile-app/). The student may also assist in project evaluations from time to time (develop your Excel data skills!). The student will thus develop strong research and communication project skills working directly with the project leader and producers statewide. This summer, the position will be full-time working up to 40 hours a week (20 hours per week at other times). The position will carry over to the fall and spring semesters as part-time and is ideal for students looking for flexible work hours during the day.
Minimum Qualifications	Currently enrolled as an Auburn University undergraduate student.
