As a Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech III), you'll use your skills to perform maintenance and repairs on complex equipment in a safe and professional manner. What you'll do:
  • Safe maintenance and repair of a variety of complex rental equipment involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems
  • Assist in the training of lower level technicians as needed
  • Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely manner on a daily basis
  • When required, travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance of rental or customer owned equipment; must maintain service vehicle in a clean and professional manner
  • Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts
  • Other duties assigned as needed


Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • 3-5 years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools
  • Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools
  • Strong mechanical background knowledge of various engines
  • Must own tools applicable to position
  • Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills
  • Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

Mecanicien Diesel - Service Tech III

Voici d'ailleurs quelques-unes des taches supplementaires:
  • Assurer l'entretien et la reparation d'une vaste gamme d'equipements de location complexes, notamment des systemes mecaniques, electriques, hydrauliques et diesels.
  • Participer a la formation des techniciens subalternes, au besoin.
  • Tenir a jour la documentation ecrite ou electronique associee aux travaux effectues (bons de travail) de maniere exhaustive chaque jour dans les delais prescrits.
  • Au besoin, se rendre sur le lieu de travail du client pour reparer ou entretenir son materiel ou celui qu'il a loue (vous serez charge de veiller a la proprete et au caractere presentable du vehicule de service).
  • Participer au ramassage et a la livraison des equipements et des pieces.
  • Realiser les autres taches demandees en fonction des besoins.


Exigences du poste:
  • Diplome d'etudes secondaires ou equivalent.
  • Permis de conduire valide assorti d'un dossier de conduite juge acceptable.
  • Experience de trois a cinqans en reparation ou en entretien d'equipements et d'outils.
  • Competences avancees en mecanique et connaissance pratique des outils.
  • Connaissance approfondie de la mecanique de divers moteurs.
  • Possession des outils applicables au poste obligatoire.
  • Service a la clientele de qualite superieure, esprit d'equipe et capacite a communiquer aussi bien a l'oral qu'a l'ecrit.
  • Capacite a soulever frequemment des objets pouvant peser jusqu'a 20kg (45lb).

As a Mechanic - Pump (Service Tech III) within the Fluid division at United Rentals, you'll use your skills to perform maintenance tasks as well as minor repairs on equipment in a safe and professional manner. You will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of dryers and pumps. Every day, you can improve and challenge yourself, and if you have the desire and ambition, you'll have the potential to work towards higher level Tech roles in our Service Department. Like every member of our team, we will rely on you to provide exceptional customer service to our customers.

What you'll do:
  • Responsible for service documentation
  • Travel to customer sites
  • Train lower level Technicians
  • Demonstrate equipment for customers
  • Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts
  • Other duties assigned as needed


Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of experience with repairing and maintaining dryers and pumps of various sizes, capacities and manufacturers
  • Own the tools applicable to position
  • Knowledge of construction equipment
  • Strong mechanical background knowledge particularly with various engines
  • Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

You will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of diesel engines, HVAC equipment, and dehumidification/air purification equipment. What you'll do:
  • Maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of rental and customer equipment and tools
  • Report machine condition to Management
  • Responsible for service documentation

  • Train lower level technicians as needed

  • Basic understanding of schematics and diagrams

  • Perform intermediate level diagnostics and repairs on a variety of Tools and systems utilizing working knowledge of schematics and diagrams
  • Assist in the training of lower level technicians as needed
  • Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed
  • When required travel to customer site for repair/maintenance of rental or owned equipment
  • May assist in the pick up and delivery of equipment and parts to and from outside vendors and other United Rentals, Inc. locations for purchase and/or repair
  • Other duties assigned as needed


Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of experience repairing/maintaining Specialty Tools
  • Must own tools applicable to position
  • Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools
  • Working knowledge of schematics and diagrams
  • Working knowledge of Specialty Tools; manufacturers' warranty access; and work order/time spent accounting
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • Ability to coach and mentor less experienced service technicians

What you'll do:
  • Equipment Maintenance & Repair
  • Diagnose mechanical failures and repair components according to manuals, factory specifications, and knowledge of engine performances, using hand tools, power tools, and testing instruments
  • Inspect parts for damage, and verify dimensions and clearances of parts for conformance to factory specifications, using gauges, such as calipers, and micrometers
  • Assist in the training of lower level technicians as needed
  • Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely manner on a daily basis
  • When required, travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance of rental or customer owned equipment; must maintain service vehicle in a clean and professional manner
  • Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts
  • Other duties assigned as needed


Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • General Construction knowledge and background
  • Knowledge of repairing, removing and installing floors, tile, roofs, walls, framing, doors, leaks, caulking, windows, screens, painting, electrical, plumbing, filters/dampers, replacing skin, trim
  • Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills
  • General preventative maintenance of Cummins, Cat and Detroit engines
  • General preventative maintenance of trailers
  • Experience with overhead doors, dollies, electrical troubleshooting
  • Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.
