JOB SUMMARY:
Manage all tasks associated with researching and reproducing transactions, reports, as it relates to item processing. To adequately reproduce / render any and all documents requested, and to ensure compliance with response timeframes and scope as required by law. This position is responsible for reviewing, decisioning and balancing all of the Bank's non-post deposit application (checking and savings) transactions, as well as daily reconciliation of the FED statements with the Bank's general ledger system. The incumbent is responsible for adhering to the rules and regulations set forth by the Federal Reserve, Check 21 legislation while meeting all daily deadlines and service level agreements
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Processes incoming research requests by reviewing reports, image viewer, general ledger accounts, account statements and other various documents
Render/reproduce all requested information for the branches/departments of the organization
Schedules, collects and distributes Return Electronic Cash letter files via updating the Bank's Day 2 processing system and the item processing archival system. Meets all deadlines, balancing of the files and verifying file receipts after each transmission while adhering to SLA's
Performs posting to department/customers account(s) to assess research fees
Closes out the Day 2 system for end of day processing which includes balancing entries being keyed and verified for accuracy
Responsible for maintaining compliance with protocols necessary to receive and submit research and documentation requests institution wide.
Reconciles the FED and 3rd party exchange partner statements to the departmental general ledger accounts associated with Day 2 processing
Assures quality and efficiency of reproduction of documents as required by law
Interacts with branch/department associates, to research and resolve problems regarding customer accounts
Utilizes core base applications and 3rd party application to complete review and verification of item disposition to ensure process and policy is followed in management of exception items
Provides customer service to both internal and external customers with ability to answer questions of a complex nature with minimal supervision
Responsible for mastering and maintaining equipment and systems necessary for document request, research and reproduction processing within 90 days.
Maintain company/customer privacy and integrity
Actively pursue and identify potential processing changes to reduce cost
Prepares and sends internal and external e-mails to associates related to research information.
Provide fast and efficient response to business needs with the highest achievable result at the lowest cost of the company
Perform other related duties/special projects and responsibilities assigned.
Incumbent is required to comply with all applicable federal, state, and local banking and industry related laws and regulations including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act.
MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & KNOWLEDGE:
Required
Minimum one year of experience
Preferred
Associate Degree and 6 months to 1 year related experience
No certification, licensure or registrations are required to successfully apply for this job;
Basic knowledge of computers
Thorough knowledge of various types of archive media
Knowledge of current Day 2 processing system (DSS Trips) and Check 21 requirements in order to correctly perform return item decisions / entries. Close attention to detail is critical
Basic typing skills
Proficient operation of Microsoft Office Products such as Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and PowerPoint.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in order to communicate effectively with bank personnel.
Must be able to establish and maintain a high level of credibility with all levels of internal and external customers.
Detail oriented.
Excellent organizational/planning/project management skills
Ability to formulate sound conclusions and recommend optimal course of action based on analysis
