The Auburn University (www.auburn.edu) College of Agriculture's Department of Poultry Science is seeking candidates for two non-tenure track (NTT) positions of Assistant Research Professor - Post-Harvest Poultry Food Safety. These NTT faculty positions are full-time, twelve-month, research appointments, renewable annually contingent upon satisfactory performance and funding. The positions are eligible for benefits, including health insurance.

Responsibilities: The successful candidates will be responsible for developing an independent research program on post-harvest poultry food safety to broadly address one of the following objectives:

In addition, the successful candidate will mentor poultry science graduate and undergraduate students, engage in scholarship that results in peer-reviewed publications, and secure extramural funding to support their research program from sources such as USDA-NIFA, NSF, and other competitive programs, as well as from relevant industries in Alabama and across the country. The position does not involve a teaching appointment; however, successful candidates may develop and teach courses per their interest.

Minimum qualifications are an earned Ph.D. from an accredited institution in poultry science, animal science, or closely related disciplines at the time employment begins. Candidates should demonstrate research experience in post-harvest food safety, microbiological and molecular biology techniques that are relevant to the positions. Ideal candidates should have documented evidence of their ability to conduct research and to work with faculty and students across multiple disciplines. The candidate must possess excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills. The incumbent must meet eligibility requirements for work in the United States at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the term of employment.

A demonstrated record of securing extramural funding, peer-reviewed publications and documented experience mentoring undergraduate and graduate students in research are desired.
