Job Description Summary
The School of Architecture, Planning, and Landscape Architecture at Auburn University seeks an Assistant Professor in Architecture (tenure track) with a teaching focus in design studio and history and theory of architecture. The School of Architecture, Planning, and Landscape Architecture (APLA) has a 110-year history of educating architects, interior architects, landscape architects and planners. The school contributes to the region and to the profession through outreach, scholarship and creative work. APLA includes three allied disciplines: Architecture, Interior Architecture, and Landscape Architecture, and offers both Bachelor’s and Master’s degree options. APLA resides in the College of Architecture, Design and Construction along with the School of Industrial and Graphic Design and the McWhorter School of Building Science. The successful applicant will be expected to continue and/or develop an active program of scholarly and creative work within the discipline which will be supported by the Architecture program. The primary responsibility of the successful candidate for this position is to teach undergraduate architecture studios, lecture courses, and seminars/workshops; develop an active research program; and perform service to the department and profession. APLA is especially interested in candidates who have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community through their teaching, research, outreach, and service.
