Job Summary
The Ticket Sales and Event Operations student staff at the Jay and Susie Gogue Performing Arts Center at Auburn University is a part-time year-round position available to Auburn University students. Reporting to the Patron Services Manager, these students will be responsible for assisting patrons with ticket purchases and customer inquiries, in person or on the phone, will call, and assisting visitors to find concessions, restrooms and their seats at performances. Special events assistance include equipment set-up, execution and break-down for rentals, rehearsals, and performances held in the Woltosz Theatre, Amphitheatre at the City of Auburn Lawn and Porch, and Gogue Center auxiliary spaces. Events include but are not limited to: concerts, plays, musicals, festivals, luncheons, university programs & events, and facility rentals.

This position will also act as welcoming ambassadors of the Gogue Performing Arts Center to patrons, donors, special guests and visiting artists exemplifying superior hospitality and customer service.
Essential Functions
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills in dealing with peers, patrons, donors, and co-workers over the phone or in person.
  • Display substantial knowledge about GPAC events, performances, ticket sales packages, subscriptions, and policies.
  • Assist patrons with ticket purchases in person or over the phone via the ticketing system. Promptly address patron questions or concerns about the facility.
  • Maintain professionalism and discretion in dealing with organizational and patron information.
  • Provides day-of-show assistance with will-call, concierge, and house management, as assigned.
  • Assistance with event set-up, execution, and breakdown. Sort and store equipment in the proper location in an orderly fashion.
  • Promote a friendly and welcoming environment for peers, patrons, donors, and co-workers.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Enrolled student at Auburn University
  • Prior customer service experience is required. Please identify on application if you possess knowledge of any concert/theatrical ticketing programs/software.
  • Ability to understand layouts, meticulously follow set-up, break down, and equipment transporting instructions as assigned.
  • Ability to work independently and with different groups.
  • Be able to bend, stoop, kneel, walk, climb ladders, and carry equipment
  • Must be able to work nights and weekends as required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of relevant Office 365 software: Outlook, Word, Excel, OneNote, etc.
  • Possess above-average problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Easily adapts and handles high-pressure situations and deadlines.
  • Arrive promptly for shifts, dressed in business casual attire, presenting a professional appearance and enthusiastic attitude.
  • Attend all mandatory trainings.
  • Follow procedures set forth by the department and university policies.
Pay Rate $10.00/hour
Work Hours Up to 20
