Job Summary
Student Affairs Communications and Marketing is searching for a student writer to help us share the exceptional Auburn student experience on print and digital platforms. Typical assignments would include the following:

  • Copywriting for marketing collateral
  • Writing feature stories and news releases
  • Assisting with social media and website content
  • Bringing energy and ideas to a growing creative team

This is an excellent opportunity to build a professional portfolio and gain hands-on experience.
Essential Functions
  • Write news and feature stories as assigned
  • Pitch story ideas
  • Curate, copy edit and fact-check content as needed
  • Assist in the development and execution of communications plans
Minimum Qualifications
Currently enrolled undergraduate Auburn student majoring in journalism, English, communications, marketing or related field.

Expectations:
  • Experience writing about newsworthy people, activities or events
  • Desire to sharpen writing skills and contribute to a creative team
  • Willingness to suggest stories that will be of interest to Auburn students
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Attention to detail and knowledge of AP Style
Preferred Qualifications
Pay Rate $12.00/hour
Work Hours 15
