Position Summary Information
Job Description Summary | The Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering (CSSE), situated within the Samuel Ginn College of Engineering, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position to start on January 1, 2024 or later. Salary will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications. Responsibilities include research, graduate student supervision, graduate and undergraduate teaching, and service. We seek candidates who have expertise and interest in applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) to solve problems in other domains such as education, engineering, environment, and healthcare. Selected candidate will be expected to develop research collaborations with faculty in other disciplines who are part of the AI@AU Initiative (https://eng.auburn.edu/ai-au/), leading to extramurally funded projects. CSSE expects to enroll students in a new MS in Artificial Intelligence Engineering program in fall 2024, subject to approval. Selected candidate will be expected to teach core courses in this program, and to develop new undergraduate and graduate courses in AI. Minimum Qualifications | A PhD degree in computer science, software engineering, or a closely related field at the time employment begins. Applicants must have the potential to develop a vigorous externally funded research program and a commitment to teaching. The successful candidate must meet eligibility requirements for work in the United States at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the term of employment. |
